Apple II version
The program did not exist when the article about Heiankyo Alien was published in the Asahi Weekly in July 1979, but was developed by members of the group shortly afterward using Apple II BASIC (low-resolution graphics mode). It was also used as a demo for various game companies that contacted the group.
Arcade version
It was developed by the Theoretical Science Group at the University of Tokyo in the summer of 1979 and commercialized by Denki Onkyo.
It was unveiled at the Amusement Machine Show in October 19, 1979.
It was released by Denki Onkyo in January 1980. The list price for the table-type version was 590,000 yen.
The tortoiseshell candy buttons were abolished and the number of Kebiishi was changed to three.
TK-80BS version
It was created in the fall of 1979, based on the original Apple II version.
It was exhibited at the Komaba Festival (school festival) in November.
The program listing was published in the February 1980 issue of Kogakusha's "I/O."
The April 1980 issue of Kogakusha's "I/O" magazine introduced the "Cassette Service," which launched mail-order package sales.
There are tortoiseshell candy buttons.
PC-8001 version, MZ-80K/C version
The April 1980 issue of Kogakusha's "I/O" magazine introduced the "Cassette Service" which offered packaged sales by mail order.
The program listing was published in Kogakusha's "Microcomputer Games Book 1" (March 1981).
The tortoiseshell candy buttons were abolished and the number of Kebiishi was changed to three.
Official version (by Hyperware Co., Ltd.)
Windows version
It was released on September 2, 1999 by Hyperware Co., Ltd. , which acquired the rights to Heiankyo Alien. It was developed from scratch using C programming language.

It was sold for 100 yen as the 25th title in Daiso's "The Game Series ."

Heiankyo Alien LSI Game (Gakken 1980)
Although it is a dedicated LSI game machine, the atmosphere is faithful to the original.
Heiankyo Alien PC-8001 (HAL Laboratory 1981)
NEC's PC-8001 with programmable character generator PCG-8100.
When attached, the display is identical to the arcade version.
Alien VIC-1001 (HAL Laboratory 1981)
Released as a ROM cassette for the Commodore computer VIC-1001.
The controller has one button, so you press the button and then dig up or bury down.
Heiankyo Alien Game Boy version (Live Planning/Meldac 1990)
Includes two versions: the "OLD" version, which is the original arcade version mode, and the "NEW" version, which is a remake.
The brother of the wife of Norio Nakagata, who was involved in the development, was a member of the TSG development team for Heiankyo Alien, so the original program for the arcade version was provided to them and was used as a reference when porting the game.
To create buzz, they even went as far as to hold an exorcism ceremony for the "Heiankyo Alien" in Kyoto.
Nichibu Arcade Classics 2 Heiankyo Alien (Nippon Bussan 1995)
Super Famicom version.
Includes the original arcade version mode, a graphically revamped version adapted to the Super Famicom's capabilities, and a VS mode.
Heiankyo Alien mobile phone app version (G-mode 2001)
A feature mobile phone app version distributed on i-mode, J-Sky, and EZweb. It is a port based on the arcade version, but since it was ported to fit the screen size and resolution specifications of mobile phones at the time, there are some changes such as the roads being reduced in size.
Heiankyo Alien DX (G-Mode 2003)
It was distributed as an application for the 505i mobile phone on the i-mode game site "Get!! Petit Appli." It is a revamped version with modern graphics and game system.
Heiankyo Alien 3671 for Windows (Steam distribution) (Mindware 2017)
In addition to the mode that recreates the arcade version, several arranged modes including "Heiankyo Alien 3671" are included.
